Program Overview HP has now made it easier for HP Corporate and Enterprise customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa to acquire the latest HP technology and responsibly deal with old technology. Delivered via one central Program Office, HP Asset Recovery Services include programs to help customers transition away from their existing infrastructure, acquire new HP technology, manage that technology, then recycle it at the end of its useful life. Governments, customers and the public are increasingly interested in the proper disposal of used electronics. In EMEA, the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive ensures that systems for collection, treatment and recycling of electronic waste are in place throughout the European Union. HP will comply with the provisions of the WEEE Directive and national implementing legislation where required. Product recycling is nothing new to HP, in 2006 alone, we recycled more than 74 million kilograms of hardware and HP print cartridges worldwide, a 16 percent increase over 2005.
