HP has published a white paper, entitled "Low Carbon IT Solution" (Exectuive Summary), which builds upon an academic report developed by WWF-Sweden and helps customers identify products and services that can help them transition to operate with a lower carbon footprint.

In an interview Dennis Pamlin, Global Policy Advisor at the WWF, highlights key insights from the report and outlines industries and specific areas of activity that offer “smarter growth” through products and services that carry a lower carbon footprint.

Distinct areas of impact
In the WWF report , a number of existing technology solutions have been outlined that can offer a significant reduction in carbon emissions.

Based on these research findings, HP has compiled a customer guide entitled “Low Carbon IT Solutions” that summarises HP technology available for these areas.

First global study
The WWF report is the first global study that identifies existing technologies that any company could start employing today, to further reduce their own carbon footprint.

Dennis Pamlin also emphasizes the potential for business innovation and offer development in these areas and calls on representatives from the public and the private sector to actively participate in the search for low-carbon services.
