Inspiration to achieve more
This is the third year that HP has sponsored the W.I.N. global forum. Lisa Kepinski, HP EMEA interim director of Diversity & Inclusion believes there are many benefits derived from such an event.
She said: “The W.I.N. global forum is recognised for inspiring women to develop their professional careers. Delegates are shown how they can achieve so much more, which is what we, as a company, want to achieve for our own employees.
“Our sponsorship of the event reflects our strong belief in the progression of women in business today. Skills development and inclusion of women are key challenges for our industry sector. The marketplace demands it and our customers need it.”
Grouping together
HP’s Diversity & Inclusion policy is supported by a team of 34 Diversity Champions in EMEA, all senior managers from HP’s businesses who draw on their knowledge of national culture to share best practices and set common priorities. The Diversity Champions also work closely with internal Employee Resource Groups, which are employee-driven, management-supported and corporate-funded.
Lisa added: “We currently have 16 Employee Resource Groups in EMEA, with another six in the pipeline. The majority of them focus on women’s professional career development and are extremely active. HP Denmark has just hosted an ‘Open Women’s Networking’ session for more than 200 people and HP Sweden is organising a ‘Women’s Inspiration day’ for later this year. In addition, we have plans for a ‘Women’s Summit’ for the whole region next year.”
HP UK has also been placed in the list of the top 50 companies of ‘Where women want to work’, a recent survey conducted by The Timesin association with Aurora, the results of which were released on 4 October.
