Addressing some of the big social issues
HP has a long tradition of corporate social responsibility (CSR) which goes back to the first $5 donation to a local charity in Palo Alto, California. The company has grown significantly over the years, as have its CSR programmes.

We spoke to Jeannette Weisschuh, Head of Corporate Affairs for HP in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) about the most recent social investment strategy of HP in the region.

Recycling figures reach new heights
Recycling, whether it involves businesses, governments, the public or customers, plays an integral part in reducing our environmental impact. As an industry leader, HP continually demonstrates its commitment to the environment by undertaking advanced recycling programmes which stay one step ahead of ever-changing regulations.

HP’s latest figures for recycling hardware rose even further in 2006, putting us well on track to achieve our cumulative goal of recycling 455 million kilos (1 billion pounds) by the end of 2007.

Award recognition for HP as the preferred employer for women
HP's initiatives in creating a diverse and inclusive work culture were recognised with awards from Germany and the UK last year. The awards, which are given to employers who successfully attract and retain female talent, recognise HP for the company’s track record and committed approach.
