Following HP’s announcement of its collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund-US (WWF-US) in November 2006, we are able to reveal further details of the partnership around the world.
HP has just announced that it will donate $2.2 million in cash and HP equipment to the WWF. The funds will help the WWF establish a number of projects dedicated to helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions globally through data collection and analysis, research and education.
Three dedicated projects will make this happen that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a global basis:
|

 |
- The Epicenter for Climate Conservation, based in North America, to advance climate adaptation and resiliency strategies and projects worldwide
- Climate Witness, based in Asia, to communicate the impacts of climate change through web-based projects
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Innovation as a driver of Climate Change Solutions in Europe, to leverage the power of ICT to quantify and achieve emissions reductions of at least 1 billion tons CO2
|

| Energy efficiency is a key priority at HP. We recently announced a goal to reduce its global energy use by 20 percent by 2010. We will also increase our renewable energy purchases by more than 350 percent by procuring 50 million kWh of renewable electricity during 2007. |

Focus for EMEA ICT Innovation as a driver of Climate Change Solutions will be a key focus in EMEA, particularly for France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and UK. HP experts in those countries will work with WWF scientists to discover how technology can help reduce climate impacts and carbon dioxide emissions. This program will highlight HP products such as the Halo Collaboration System and Data Center Cooling technologies, and explore ways to implement these technologies more broadly.

Global impact Together with the WWF we have the opportunity to make a difference globally, combining our expertise, experience and brand reach. “These initiatives are part of HP’s comprehensive environmental strategy that leverages technology to help reduce our own environmental impact, as well as that of our customers, partners and suppliers,” said Pat Tiernan, vice president, Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility, HP. “These projects will deliver measurable results that we hope will encourage action from corporations, individuals and governments around the world.”
