HP reduces its carbon footprint with next generation HP business technology
Offering our customers an effective way to reduce energy consumption is a top priority for HP and recent advances in modern technology have meant that significant energy savings can now be achieved with the right technology. However, HP is also continuously striving to reduce its own carbon footprint by implementing its own technology in its data centres. Most recently, HP announced the largest deployment of its Dynamic Smart Cooling technology in one of its next-generation research data centers located in Bangalore, India.
HP South Africa achieves an excellent level of compliance with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)
The announcement of the establishment of the HP Business Institute (HPBI) made at the end of August, has contributed toward HP South Africa achieving the second highest level of compliance with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice. This represents a greater than 85 percent (or Level 2) level of compliance in terms of these Codes of Good Practice.
The Corporate Affairs EMEA team spoke to Benni North, Transformation Manager, HP South Africa about the preparations that led to HPBI and the overall B-BBEE programme that HP considers to be part of its responsibility to “do the right thing” in the South African market, as HP does in every local market where it has a presence.
University grant recipients gather in London for networking and best practice sharing
On October 10th, current and previous recipients of HP’s Technology for Teaching Higher Education grant in Europe, the Middle East and Africa gathered in London for the first European Higher Education Forum. Since the inception of the grant scheme in 2003, an annual worldwide conference has been part of the one-year programme for grant recipients, but this is the first year a dedicated conference took place in Europe
HP champions women professionals at W.I.N. Conference
The 10th Women International Networking (W.I.N.) Conference took place on September 27-29 in Oslo, Norway and as in previous years, HP was again the gold sponsor for the event.
For HP, this is a unique event to build relationships with professional women, make a contribution to the overall debate and understand better the challenges women face in their careers today. More than 80 HP women professionals attended in order to benefit from development activities, the networking opportunities and to represent HP.
