| Lack of access to computers and Internet connectivity prevents the many benefits of information and communications technology (ICT) from reaching more than 4 billion people worldwide - benefits that include substantial social and economic development opportunities. Together with key partners from the international development community, government and local communities, HP deployed technology to assist individuals and communities.
Our e‑inclusion efforts span areas such as medicine, entrepreneurship, agriculture, banking, distance learning, commerce and cultural preservation.
HP launched its e-inclusion initiative in 2000 and fulfilled its e-inclusion commitments in 2006, but we are still supporting many of the projects that evolved from this initiative. HP has worked, and continues to work closely with public and private organizations to facilitate a smooth transition of e-inclusion programs to full community ownership and accountability.
