HP South Africa achieves an excellent level of compliance with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment

The announcement of the establishment of the HP Business Institute (HPBI) made at the end of August, has contributed toward HP South Africa achieving the second highest level of compliance with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.

Benni North, Transformation Manager, HP South Africa spoke with us about the preparations that led to HPBI and the overall B-BBEE programme that HP considers to be part of its responsibility to “do the right thing” in the South African market, as HP does in every local market where it has a presence.

University grant recipients gather in London for networking and best practice sharing

| On October 10th, 23 current and previous recipients of the HP’s Technology for Teaching grant from 16 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) gathered at Imperial College in London for the first EMEA Higher Education Forum. |

The grant recipients came from 16 countries ranging from Ethiopia to Russia. Since the inception of the grant scheme in 2003, an annual worldwide conference has been part of the one-year programme for grant recipients, but this is the first year a dedicated conference took place in Europe. |

HP champions women professionals at W.I.N. Conference

The 10th Women International Networking (W.I.N.) Conference took place on September 27th-29th in Oslo, Norway and as in previous years, HP was again the gold sponsor for the event. Each year, W.I.N. brings together professional women from all over Europe, offering leadership insight, discussion of business success, networking with other women and career planning advice
