| HP has been working with JA-YE in 28 countries in Europe on a number of different projects since 1996. Joint projects included HP’s support for enterprise education programmes in schools and special events, as well as the participation of HP employees as volunteers.
In 2006, HP and JA-YE launched the European ‘HP Responsible Business Competition’ in order to raise awareness among young people about important issues facing businesses today such as concerns about corporate social responsibility. HP is sponsoring the competition for students in the JA-YE Company Programme at secondary schools |

| In 2003, HP in partnership with UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural organisations) set up the project 'Piloting Solutions for Alleviating Brain Drain in South East Europe' , working with seven universities in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, and Serbia & Montenegro to begin addressing the problem of academics having to move abroad to further their research and employment prospects (“brain drain”). The project reconnects university faculties to the web through grid computing technology and allows them to link to international colleagues and university resources.
In 2006, the initiative was extended to Africa. The project “Piloting Solutions for Reversing Brain Drain into Brain Gain for Africa”, aims to help reduce “brain drain” in Algeria, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe. |
