It is Hewlett-Packard intent to contribute to the welfare of the communities where HP operates. HP Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA), through its Philanthropy programs, is willing to help education institutions and non-profit organizations by providing them with HP technology that can be of use in pursuing their activities.

HP EMEA does not accept unsolicited requests for grants.

The majority of our EMEA grants are awarded through HP-developed grant initiatives that are aligned with our three focus areas Education, Economic Development and Environment. We launch these competitive grant initiatives at the beginning of each fiscal year (November).

We will award grants only to eligible universities, schools and non-profit community organisations that meet the requirements of the specific initiatives. If you contact HP with an unsolicited grant request, you will receive a generic response that reiterates this policy.

How HP does not consider the following types of grant requests?

In the EMEA region, HP Philanthropy and Education supports exclusively non-profit accredited institutions (not individuals) and the following criteria are taken into consideration when examining a request:

  • Requests from individuals.
  • Requests for grants for religious activities, churches.
  • Requests for sponsorships or grants for conferences, seminars, contests, fund-raising activities, promotional items, sports events, marketing, TV and video production, research or feasibility studies.
  • Requests from individual schools (unless through one of our grant initiatives).
  • For-profit ventures.
  • Requests from programs that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, colour, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability or veteran status.
  • Requests for used or obsolete equipment.
  • Discounted purchases.
  • Requests from organizations that provide support or resources to any individual or entity that advocates, plans, sponsors, engages in, or has engaged in terrorist activity; or to anyone who acts as an agent for such an individual or entity. Support or resources include currency or other financial instruments, financial services, lodging, training, safe houses, false documentation or identification, communication equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel, transportation, and any other services or physical assets. Any violation of this certification is grounds for return to the donor of all funds advanced to grantee.
