National Children’s Home |
| In the UK, since 2002, HP has been working with the National Children’s Home (NCH) to support homeless young people, young people leaving care and those with no access to IT. HP has supported NCH through a number of initiatives during this time. Continuing from previous years, a team from HP slept out in the heart of London for the 2006 NCH ‘Byte Night’ to raise money for the homeless. HP also supports the NCH’s “Access to IT“ initiative which seeks to ensure that children and young people, particularly those who are most disadvantaged, can enjoy and benefit from IT, using new skills to improve their situation and potentially find a job. |

Community co-operation |
| HP believes that technology can help unlock the potential in every community. We initiated the Digital Communities project in Belfast and most recently in Glasgow, in order to help improve access to technology in disadvantaged areas. Through this initiative, we have been providing four local community groups with state-of-the-art technology, classrooms and IT training over the past year. This has given them the tools to deliver some of the practical skills necessary to achieve a more prosperous future and successfully encouraged greater cross-community co-operation. |

Technology for schools |
| HP also supports schools in their efforts to increase computer literacy. We have a long-established, strong relationship with Kelvin School in Glasgow, a school for children who have multiple disabilities, including visual impairments. Alongside various fund raising initiatives, we have provided equipment, financial support and training over the past year to help Kelvin’s teachers make the best use of their technology for the benefit of pupils. |

Prince’s Trust |
| HP also supports the Prince’s Trust, a UK charity that helps young people overcome barriers and improves their lives. Through practical support, including training, mentoring and financial assistance, a team from HP has been raising money throughout 2006 to help 14-30 year olds realize their potential and transform their lives. |
